However, it begins with an important clarification: Hydrogen has not been proven as a universal treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">It requires billions \u2013 not just research, but business<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To have a treatment fully approved as a medical drug, it requires Phase 1, 2, and 3 of clinical trials, often involving thousands of patients and long-term follow-up over many years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Developing and getting a drug approved can cost billions of dollars. Hydrogen is a natural molecule that cannot be patented in its pure form. This means that strong economic incentives do not exist for large pharmaceutical companies to invest the enormous sums required for full drug approval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">It is not necessarily about a conspiracy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although history contains examples of financial interests and power structures within the healthcare system, it does not mean that everything new is suppressed. Often, it is a matter of capital, regulatory complexity, and incentive structures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Development is in progress<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the US, researchers have obtained IND approval for specific clinical studies with hydrogen. In Japan and China, hydrogen devices are approved as medical equipment in research contexts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is not the same as broad hospital implementation, but it shows that the field is moving forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">History repeats itself<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">History shows that scientific acceptance often takes decades. Documentation of the harmful effects of smoking existed long before broad social acceptance. The same applies to seatbelts and many other health-related insights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The timeline of hydrogen<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">Early observations of the biological effects of hydrogen were described as early as the 1700s. The modern wave of research began for real in 2007 with a groundbreaking publication in Nature Medicine. \n<br>In a biomedical perspective, 20 years is a very short period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The honest conclusion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">Hydrogen is neither a suppressed miracle cure nor a fully established standard treatment.
